Meet Phoebe from @at_home_with_roman_and_phee, a creative mum whose page began when her son Roman was just 18 months old. What started as a way to share her love of children’s décor, home styling and creativity has grown into a beautiful space celebrating family life, thoughtful interiors and the joy of supporting small businesses.

How would you describe your child’s personality at this stage and what challenges come with it?

Roman is so cheeky and inquisitive and he loves anything cute and cosy or that has wheels. At 3 he is very busy discovering and moves at a million miles an hour so keeping up with him can be a whirlwind.

Where do you find inspiration for your child’s style?

I’m inspired by nature and love toys and decor that speak to imaginative play. We have days where we are all about creating and making and other days where it’s more about movement so cars and building. We like to keep it varied and interesting and most of all fun.

How do you handle seasonal wardrobe or interior changes and ever-growing little ones, do you have any tips for finding, reusing, or upcycling pieces?

Seasonal decor, toys and books really speak to me, I love buying things that are fun but also teach Roman about the season we are currently in.

His room decor and wardrobe is switched up seasonally to keep it stimulating and exciting for him. We always reuse toys, books, décor year on year to ensure it is all loved and appreciated for more than just one season.

I also always buy clothing in bigger sizes to get at least 2 seasons worth and bunting and foliage is always upcycled to blend in for the next seasons change.

What does a realistic day in your home look like right now?

It’s cute and chaotic haha. Roman starts his day singing, he could sing for England. We then go on to a puzzle and some breakfast and then move on with some imaginative play. We like to get out to the park to run off some energy and then usually some lunch some reading, building or trains and then dinner , bath and bed.

Is there a PlayFaire toy or collection that’s become a favourite in your home?

We adore our Little Dutch ToolBox!

It promotes open ended play and Roman will ‘fix’ things with it for hours. It teaches hand eye coordination and helps him use his imagination.

What’s something about this season of parenting that feels especially meaningful to you?

Watching his little personality grow and him learn new things and become more confident in his abilities is so special. That little toddler backing onto your knee for a cuddle or leading you somewhere by the hand, those moments are so wholesome and precious

What would you say to another parent navigating a similar stage?

We are all having good and bad days, and although we love it, it’s ok to admit it’s also so hard sometimes. I promise you we all in the same boat and if things feel tough, get outside, outside always makes things feel lighter and brighter. Toddler life is both wonderful and mad and that’s the beauty of it
